Wikimedia projects have revolutionized the world of information and shaped the way information is stored and distributed. In this presentation we will learn a little about the history of the platforms, see a vision of the future and learn how this information is processed and can be consumed.

André Barbosa is a Wikimedian since 2006, administrator and bureaucrat of WIkipédia Lusófona, he has dedicated a large part of these years to the development of editing bots and tools to support and control edits, and his bots have already made more than 1600,000 edits in the various projects. He was a founding member of the WIkimedia Portugal Association and is currently chairman of the board.
Communities and knowledge empowerment: the human side of technology

Is technology a path to individualism or is it a bridge to creativity and a collaborative world? The Internet’s launch was a bridge to Developer Communities and Knowledge democratization. But to what extent does having knowledge at the click of a button make us need each other less? What is the difference between developing in Community and doing it in our absolute solitude? Do we need to be sociable people to improve our code or is it enough to have the knowledge in our hands? This session is intended to be a breeding ground for joint knowledge. An on-site forum where we can prioritize impact, work together, strive for excellence, understand, and respect each other but, more than anything else, enjoy what we do.
Keynote speaker
Patricia Moreno Luna is a Sound and Image Engineer in Telecommunications with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, and a Master's Degree in Decision Making and Innovation. With more than fifteen years linked to the Technology Sector, working for companies such as Telefónica, Accenture, etc. She is currently the Extremadura Culture and Ecosystem Lead as well as Project Manager in Accenture. With her vast background, she has acquired a wide knowledge of technology, industry, and its impact on society.
